How we Work

Our focus is not just to stop pain or restore normal function. We also aim to help you stay well.

All too often people focus on their acute pain or their acute symptoms and forget about trying to prevent those symptoms from reoccurring again. Once the initial/acute symptoms are resolved we aim to work with you to stop a reoccurrence. Typically treatment should progress through three distinct stages:

Relief of Acute Symptoms

Return to Normal Function/Health

Maintenance of  Health

Relief of Acute Symptoms
In the most severe cases the initial stage of treatment is focused on reducing your pain or resolving the worst of your symptoms. At this stage we will work with you to develop a treatment plan that suits your individual condition. Chinese herbal medicine and nutritional supplements are commonly started at this point but are not always required. Once your acute symptoms are resolved we can move onto the 2nd stage, which is returning you to normal function/health.

Return to Normal Function/Health

At this stage the worst of your acute pain and dysfunction has subsided and we can concentrate on restoring you to normal function. We will use this time to correct the underlying imbalances that have brought about your symptoms in the first place. This may require gentle stretching, exercise or other lifestyle modification to be most effective.

In less severe cases treatment of the underlying causes of your condition starts with your first treatment. This may take 4 to 6 treatments to resolve depending on the nature and severity of your condition.

Maintenance of Good Health
We can all make small changes to our lifestyle to make for a healthier way of life but many health complaints are due to factors that you cannot avoid completely. It makes sense to do a little maintenance from time to time. Being proactive about your health with a regular monthly or fortnightly treatment can allow for potential problems to be quickly identified and resolved before they become a major issue.

Good health is more than the absence of a health crisis. Be proactive with your health today.
